Support us

Your donations enable the UK Children’s Neurological Research Campaign to help children like Reuben. Reuben is one of many thousands of children throughout the UK who are diagnosed with rare neurological disorders every year. Please help us today by making a gift for their future.

Reuben's Story:

Our son, Reuben, has a rare condition called West Syndrome which is a form of epilepsy. As Reuben has grown older, it has become more apparent how his epilepsy is, and will in the future, affect him. The condition affects every part of his development, for example his speech is very limited. He can say about half a dozen words since birth. His developmental age is about 18 months. His vision is also badly affected by brain damage (which has caused the epilepsy). Reuben has also been diagnosed with Autism. Many other children are likewise affected by rare neurological conditions, and we would like to try to help to raise awareness of the need to raise funds for this vital research.

How we help

Because UK Children’s Neurological Research Campaign is providing generic support applicable to a wide range of research projects, very substantial results can be achieved with modest sums, when compared to many other areas of research funding. The generosity of individual donors, companies, and community groups makes it possible for UKCNRC to tackle the needs of children today and lead the way to tomorrow’s cures.

For major donors, trusts and foundations, our Case for Support can be downloaded here.

We offer support and advice to prospective researchers along the route from project concept and planning, through regulatory and funding applications, to management, data analysis  and publishable outcomes.

One in six people in the United Kingdom has a neurological illness. In spite of this, research into neurological conditions lags far behind illnesses such as cancer, where funding is more readily available. This is our case for support...

It is only through the kindness of donors that we are able to continue our work and with a charity of our size even the smallest donation makes a huge difference. All donations go directly towards supporting the activities of the charity
